Purpose : Sarat chandra science innovation award ------- ( year of the award ) Proposed guidelines : 1.This award shall be given in Regional conference of the society 2.Name of the award is " Sarat chandra Science innovation award ------ ( year ) 3.It is to be awarded to a school teacher having outstanding contribution for promoting science education and innovation among school students in the education district where he / she works in the state of odisha. 4.Proposed names are to be invited from District Education officer where the regional conference is being held. 5.Also names may be invited from members of OCS from the same area where regional conference is proposed to be held.. 6.The proposed panel of names are to be put up before awards committee and final approval shall be given by President OCS. 7.The award money shall be Rs.4000/- ( four thousand ) which is incurred out of interest from the FD of Rs.1 lakh given by the donar Dr.Sarat Chandra Das Former President OCS. 8.Along with award money a certificate of appreciation and a memonto shall be given to the awardee in the regional conference of the society. 9.Institution of this proposed award has been approved in the Executive committee and subsequently in General body meeting of the society held on 24th December 2019 held at VSSUT Burla. 10. This award shall create an awarness for promotion and popularisation of science at base level in education.

Purpose : A memorial lecture may be instituted in the name of Prof Gangadhar Sahu with a corpus fund of Rs 5 Lakh. The memorial lecture may be held from 2020 OCS Annual meeting, for which the expenses as per actual I can pay in addition to Rs 5 Lakh. The OCS may frame the guidelines for this purpose. The following suggestions may kindly be considered by the Executive Committee of OCS. 1. The Lecture will be named as Prof. Gangadhar Sahu Memorial Lecture 2. The Lecture will commence from the year 2020. 3. It should be held at the time of the Annual Convention of Orissa Chemical Society. 4. However, if there is a constraint of time during the Annual Convention of Odisha Chemical Society, the Memorial Lecture may be held at a different venue and time. 5. The theme of the Lecture may be related to the Theme of the Annual Convention of the OCS or if it is organized elsewhere the theme should pertain to the theme of the Regional Conference or any such type of Conference. Purpose : I, Sri Biswaprakash Nayak, son of Late Prof. Bimbadhar Nayak, on behalf of my family members, desire to institute an award in the Orissa Chemical Society in memory of my father. Prof. Nayak was a distinguished Professor of Chemistry. He was also the President of the Orissa Chemical Society. We pledge a sum of Rs 2,00,000/-(two lakh only) as a corpus fund, which we wish to pay to the OCS to institute an award. We suggest the following terms and conditions for the award: (1) The name of the award will be 'Prof. Bimbadhar Nayak Memorial Award'. (2) The year from which the award may be instituted is 2020. (3) The award will be given to the author(s) of a research paper published in a journal of high impact factor, as decided by the OCS Awards Committee. Only the papers published during the period of one year preceding the date of the OCS advertisement for the award will be considered. (4) The area of the published research papers shall be from physical/theoretical/computational chemistry. (5) There will be a cash prize of Rs 5000 (rupees five thousand only). The first author will receive 50% of the award money, and the rest of the award money will be equally shared by the co-authors. (6) A certificate will be issued to the awarded paper mentioning the name of the award, the title of the published paper (with details), and the name(s) of the author(s). (7) One of the authors (preferably the first author) will present a lecture on the subject of the published paper for a suitable duration as decided by the OCS. The presenter of the paper, who is one of the authors (preferably the first author), shall receive the certificate on behalf of all the authors of the paper. (8) The OCS may give this award in the Annual or Regional Meetings or any other state-level OCS meeting. (9) If the OCS accepts the award proposal and the award is given from 2020, I shall pay the corpus fund of 2 lakh and additional costs incurred in 2020 (actual expenses). (10) My family may be intimated of the above selection every year before the award is given. (11) A member of the family may be allowed to attend the award meeting free of any registration charges. (12) The OCS may suitably modify any of the above suggestions while instituting the award.

The award recognizes women’s leadership in science and education and celebrates women’s contribution to the advancement and promotion of chemistry. The ‘Terms and Conditions’ of the award are as follows: 1. The name of the award will be “Prof. Manju Misra Woman of the Year in Chemistry Award”. 2. Women serving in any educational or research institute of Odisha with a minimum qualification of Ph.D. in Chemistry are eligible to apply. They shall have demonstrated contribution to advancing chemistry through research publications in any branch of chemical sciences. 3. The applicant will be above 40 years (below 65 years) of age on 31st July of the current academic year for which the award is given. Proof of age shall be furnished along with the application. 4. The award may be given in 2021, for which OCS will be credited with Rs 15,000/- in addition to the endowment fund of 3 lakh rupees. 5. The date of research papers published/accepted for publication (with DOI number) submitted for the award shall be on or before 31st July of the current academic year for which the award is given. 6. Applications must be accompanied by a list of publications in refereed journals during the last 5 years and three copies of reprints of at least two publications, considered significant by the candidate and published in the last 5 years. 7. The award will be given at the Annual Conference of the OCS or any other OCS conference. 8. The awardee will receive a cash prize of Rs 10,000/- and a citation. She will be required to give a presentation of 20 minutes duration on her research work relevant to the paper(s) based on which the award was made. 9. Prof. Amar Mohanty and/or his family members will be intimated of the above award every year before the award is given. 10. A member of the family may be requested to attend the award meeting. 11. The OCS can suitably modify any of the above guidelines while instituting the award.

Purpose : Draft Terms and Conditions 1. The Director of CIPET:SARP-LARPM, Bhubaneswar, or a nominated designate, will be Special Invitee to the Executive Committee Meeting of the OCS in which the speaker to be invited to deliver the CIPET Sponsored Prof. Padma Lochan Nayak Memorial Lecture is decided. 4. The invited speaker will be a distinguished polymer scientist of the country with high academic and research credentials. He/She shouldn’t be in relation to any of the members of Prof. Padma Lochan Nayak Memorial Committee. 5. The Corpus Fund so received by the OCS will not be spent for any other reasons whatsoever. 6. In any case, due to any reason, if the Memorial Lecture is not held continuously for 03 (three) years by the OCS, the amount along with interest so earned will be refunded to CIPET by the OCS. 7. In case of liquidation/wind-up/dissolution of the Orissa Chemical Society, the entire fund and accrued interest will be refunded to the CIPET, Bhubaneswar. 8. The Memorial Lecture may be held from 2021. 9. It should be held at the time of the Annual Convention of Orissa Chemical Society. However, if there is a constraint of time during the Annual Conference of OCS, the Memorial Lecture may be held at any Regional Conference or any such conference of the OCS. 10. The Lecture Theme may be related to the Theme of the Annual Conference of the OCS, or if it is organized elsewhere, the theme should pertain to the theme of the Regional Conference or any such Conference of the OCS. 11. The CIPET, Bhubaneswar, will be informed of the above lecture every year before the event. The Director, CIPET, Bhubaneswar, may be requested to attend the OCS conference in which the CIPET sponsored Prof. Padma Lochan Nayak Memorial Lecture is delivered. 12. The OCS can suitably modify any of the above guidelines while instituting the memorial lecture in consultation with the CIPET, Bhubaneswar.
