CAREER ASSISTANCE CELL

AIM & SCOPE

The Orissa Chemical Society is committed to the career advancement of the college/university students of the state. With this aim, the OCS will routinely post test questions for online access by the students. Teaching members of the Orissa Chemical Society or any chemistry faculty/professional with long experience in teaching in the colleges/universities/institutions of the state will post questions pertaining to the curriculum and qualifying as well as state/national level examinations. The pattern of the questions will be in keeping with the norms of these examinations. Students interested in self-evaluation may download the questions and attempt to answer. The question setter, at his/her discretion, may provide contact information, and the students will be encouraged to communicate with the concerned teacher.
This platform of teacher-student relationship building is a step forward in achieving academic excellence, particularly during a time of the current coronavirus pandemic that has made classroom teaching practically impossible. Even after the situation improves, and the students return to the campuses, this OCS forum will remain operational. It is hoped that the students will benefit from this endeavor. They will be encouraged to send feedback to the OCS so that there can be a continuous improvement whenever needed.

GUIDELINES :

1. Teaching members of the Orissa Chemical Society or any chemistry faculty/professional with long experience in teaching in the colleges/universities/institutions of the state having adequate teaching experience at the graduate and postgraduate levels in the colleges/universities/institutions can submit questions using the form provided.
2. The questions should be within the curriculum of the colleges/universities/institutions of the state for qualifying examinations and national level tests.
3. The question pattern should be in keeping with the norms presently followed by these examinations.
4. While uploading the questions, please ensure that the maximum data size is within 5 MB. As we are all aware, many of our students are located in areas where internet connectivity is weak. In keeping this in mind, please upload small data size files, preferably in word or pdf format.
5. In case it is not convenient, hand-written questions may be submitted using the image formats, as stated in the form.
6. The submitted questions, if in image format and if necessary, will be typeset by the OCS to reduce the data size.
7. Questions submitted may be briefly reviewed, but will be generally accepted, and will be made available to students for download as such.
8. The students may like to contact the teacher through any of the communication modes specified by the concerned teacher. The question setter, at his/her discretion, may allow interaction with the students. In the present situation, the OCS hopes that the teachers may encourage student-to-teacher communication.
9. It is also necessary that the teacher setting the questions has a set of answers. Just in the event of the teacher being not available to respond to the questions of the students, he/she can send the answers to the OCS for compliance of the queries of the students. The Secretary-cum-Treasurer may be directly contacted for the purpose.
10. It will be entirely the responsibility of the question setter about the originality of the questions. The OCS will not be hold accountable and liable for any proprietary/copyrighted materials used by the question setter without proper permissions. The OCS reserves the right to allow/disallow a submitted question without assigning any reason.
