Dr. Niranjan Panda received his Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur, West Bengal, in 2006. He worked under Prof. T. K. Sarkar on the generation and trapping of heteroisobenzofuran. He was a postdoctoral fellow at Technion-Israel Institute of Technology, Israel, and worked under Prof Ehud Keinan. In July 2006, he joined to National Institute of Technology (NIT) Rourkela, Odisha, India, as an Assistant Professor. Since 2011 he is working as an Associate professor at NIT Rourkela. His research area includes Transition metal-catalyzed cross-coupling reactions and their application towards the synthesis of newer heterocycles, and synthesis of the natural and non-natural products of biological significance. He has already guided five students for their Ph.D. He has contributed 30 articles in peer-reviewed international Journals. Some of his representative publications appeared in Adv. Synth. Catal.
